Business Assistance Program
The MainStreet Business Assistance Program is a free regional construction mitigation program focused on minimizing impacts to businesses caused by transportation improvement projects.
MainStreet’s free services are part of the Regional Transportation Authority's (RTA) 20-year regional transportation plan approved by voters in May of 2006, and are made available to any business owner located within a quarter-mile of an RTA project.

If you have questions regarding the construction impacts, or how to minimize the impact and disruption to your business caused by the Houghton Road transportation improvement project, please contact the MainStreet Business Association Program. MainStreet’s experienced team helps businesses successfully through Houghton Road Corridor projects and looks forward to working with project area businesses to accomplish that goal.
Over 200 businesses in the Houghton Corridor project outreach area have been serviced by MainStreet business outreach liaisons over the course of the various Houghton projects beginning in February 2009. More than 2,100 recorded business outreach visits have been made to these businesses.
MainStreet business outreach liaisons provided a variety of project-related materials to the businesses, including project updates, project maps and drawings, fact sheets, schedule information, open house/public announcements, etc.
To date, 34 project-area businesses have taken advantage of MainStreet Business Assistance consulting, across several business categories including restaurants, retail, professional and personal services. Over 1,250 hours of direct business consulting has been provided, free of charge, to the corridor businesses to date.
